Jacob: Hello Track and Field Track and Field: Hello Jacob, Its good to see you again. Today is the 6 and a half month post surgery mark of my torn labrum. Although, around 2 months ago I was ramping up to jump back into training with the group full-steam. I am running heatlhy. Let me tell you. Its been tough. The worst part about getting back in the saddle is you just have to embrace "the suck". By this I mean, you know leo and kyle are going to blow you away on some tempos, you feel like a donut, and not to ...
It’s that time of the month again. Blog time. Just joking, just joking. I think I spoke a little to soon on the season. I was injured. No worries. Although this has been quite a setback, I refuse to let it get me down. I had a torn labrum. A lot of you guys are probably like what the?! What is it you ask? It is piece of cartilage that holds the femur (thigh bone) into the acetabular rim (Just a fancy word for the hip socket)--for all of you Operation Gamers by Milton Bradley. It hindered me from running wi...
18 months.. 17 months..16…15 – months until the Olympic Trials! More on this later! Yo! I hope you liked the holiday blog. It took me a while to pound that out, but as you know the holidays are crazy for everybody. I made a promise that I would blog once a month from now on…don’t be afraid to hold me to it! Ok? Its track season! I had a couple races planned for the indoor season – Boston was the first – and then the event got cancelled! What a let down. The bags were packed, the fl...

(Clear Throat)( Cue X-mas Music) There is a new addition to the family! His name is Jack! And I’m officially an Uncle! Congratulations to my sister, her husband, and their new family! As for the rest of you guys…I’d like to wish everybody Happy Holidays! This is my favorite part of the year. Not because it’s the offseason (well, that too), but because I’m able to relax and spend time with my friends and family. Just to follow up on Europe and this past season, I have to say everything went smoothly… Aside ...
I am overseas! I finally made it over here! Brief disclaimer: Anyone who tried to get in touch with me, my phone was jacked up. I was about to pull the plug on sprint, but I had the SIM card upside down so...my bad. I’m back now! Texts messages are expensive so hit me via BBM, email, or Facebook if you need me. Recap of the past couple of months. I went into USAs with a season’s best of 147 @ New York in a Diamond league 800. So, as you can imagine, running three rounds was going to be a little grueling. I knew that I was st...
Its time to go to work. I am almost on my way to Europe! I have a couple more races in the US and then I am jet setting. I guess before I address all that. I wanted to talk about the past couple of months. As soon as I caught my flight out of Mexico on the 26th of April, I was racing two days later at Penn relays. Not only was this a great transition to racing, but it was a great introduction to the outdoor mind set. If you didn't get a chance to see the races check them out (my teammates...
I am going to be an uncle! I wasn’t supposed to say anything, but I finally got the OK! Congratulations to my sister Melissa and her husband Jimmy! I’m so happy to be an uncle and have the opportunity to be part of their child’s life. Who knows, maybe I’ll learn something before I start getting the pressure to have little Jacob's running around. Again, I am very proud that I’m going to be an uncle. Congratulations , Jimmy and ...

VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ftOVyCZiWI AYE AYE AYEEEEEE, ARRIBA! Sorry for the delay in blogs! Before diving into the adventure that is training in Mexico, I want to talk briefly about my indoor season. Although it was short, it was beneficial to my development as an all-around mid-distance runner. Running the mile twice, I set a PR of 4.04. I also had the opportunity to mix it up with some of the nation’s best 800 runners. I’ve come away from indoors with a taste of how...
Hey guys, This being my first blog, I wanted to catch people up on what I have been up too. I kinda disappeared after last outdoor season, due to an injury, but I am up and running now! I graduated in the Spring and now I am training in Austin with my college teammate Leonel Manzano. I was blessed with the opportunity to run for Nike and continue my running career, which has been incredible thus far. (Getting amazing Nike gear isn’t bad either). I am still settling into life as a professional runner, but each day goes more smoothly than t...
