18 months.. 17 months..16…15 – months until the Olympic Trials! More on this later!

Yo! I hope you liked the holiday blog. It took me a while to pound that out, but as you know the holidays are crazy for everybody. I made a promise that I would blog once a month from now on…don’t be afraid to hold  me to it! Ok?

Its track season! I had a couple races planned for the indoor season – Boston was the first – and then the event got cancelled! What a let down. The bags were packed, the flight booked, and then…BOOM…cancelled. Awesome…SO I guess you could say that I am in some downtime before the outdoor season kicks off.

Now, back to the top. 18 months.. 17 months..16…15 – months until the Olympic Trials!  It wasn't that long ago when New years hit and I said to myself that I have a year and a half before the trials are here. Well, that time has come. This period of my life is officially a time to dedicate myself to being the best that I can be. 15 months for the rest of my life!

I recently spoke to a mentor of mine and he gave a lot of clarity to my whole mindset of "18 months". He said," Dude, you need to enjoy yourself. I'm sure you are pursuing a career outside of track and don't be a weirdo, enjoy life being young. How often do you get to be 20 something, youth happens once." He finished the thought by saying, " how often do you get to be a bad son of gun? ( G-rated down of course) It's an important question".

All that being said, I have made a promise to myself. 100 percent commitment. For the next 15 months leading up to the Olympic Trials, my training will embody my devotion to this sport.  To say "I didn't have it that day" or " hey, just didn't have the energy..." will not fly.

As far as the outdoor season, I have had some hiccups that have sidelined me temporally, but I am on the upswing and looking forward to ramping it up for the remainder of the year. I wanted to jump in a very heated field @texasrelays with my teammates, but it looks like I am going to have to look forward to that another time. Whats next? ALTITUDE- I will be leaving to the great and beautiful state of New Mexico--- Looking forward to hanging out with the cast of "The Hill Have Eyes" soon. hahaha. So, be on the look out for some good photos month to month.

Get busy living or get busy dying----ok thats not me, thats Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption-- good movie though-- Anyways..

I'm working on something really really cool--- SO.. be on the look out! I've been saying that for awhile now, so we'll see.

I am going to be putting out my schedule for the immediate US racing. It will be nice to race close to home. As always, I appreciate your support!
