Jacob: Hello Track and Field
Track and Field: Hello Jacob, Its good to see you again.
Today is the 6 and a half month post surgery mark of my torn labrum. Although, around 2 months ago I was ramping up to jump back into training with the group full-steam. I am running heatlhy.
Let me tell you. Its been tough. The worst part about getting back in the saddle is you just have to embrace "the suck". By this I mean, you know leo and kyle are going to blow you away on some tempos, you feel like a donut, and not to mention you are going to get two guys--- one from Ethopia and the other one from Kenya that can flat run.... both of which run 143.......... so embrace the suck! All being said, I am SO happy that I get to enjoy this sense of hazing or this release back in the wild. As of now, I am getting back into shape and looking to make some big strides at the beginning of the year.
Hills, tempos, Long run--- Repeat. COLD TUB.
Alttile big about my hip since the surgery. I have been through a variety of challenges since the surgery. SInce the root of all evil was taken care of, Ive been dealing with posterior chain problems ( everything that runs down the back side of your anatomy). Since the body is an amazing machine, it was trying to figure out how to make me run fast with parts that were not working... Bless its heart. So working through these new patterns have been a pain, but I am full speed.
Also, I have gained a significant amount of muscle since college, no fat.... but muscle. While many will say that this is NOT a problem, its a problem. I have to be light on my feet! Other than that I couldn't be more happier. Just the normal bumps and bruises of being an athlete.
Next:
I would like to thank Chandler Oak Elementary for everything that they did for our group for the NFL E:60. We are just now realizing the potential we have ( Austin Track Club ) to reach out to the immediate community and have an impact! Check out the Video from the assembly.

At last,
I have taken on a new job! I will be selling humans.( If this isn't funny, then tell me... I cant tell). But I will be representing a company that offers sports medicine tissue--- I guess you wouldn't consider it pharmaceuticals. To say the least, it's really interesting stuff. While my primary job is still running professionally, I will be offering allografts ( specifically knee reconstruction)! So that is pretty exciting for me. I will be meeting with doctors to see if I can get them to use my tissue this week! SO- lets hope I don't get anything thrown at me. Ive been watching tape-- Love and Other drugs
Furthermore, I am happy to announce the growth of the Austin track club is finally taking off. We will be getting two new guys and a gal. To further push the bill, we have been in close contact with the Austin Marathon for guidance. Not exactly a force like the Oregon track club yet , but we are looking to be one of the hubs for track and field for future elites-- hopefully while Im still young and competing!
Be on the look out for my teammates.
